Custom Necklaces on Etsy…

Spring is on the way (wishful thinking) and soon we’ll be able to wear necklaces without having them covered with scarves, coats, sweaters, etc. I have a variety of necklaces available for sale on Etsy and am always open to custom orders based on your ideas and sketches…I love a challenge!

University days…

My final project in Rick Pottruff’s drawing IV class at the University of Guelph (1988) was a mixed media piece. I deconstructed my bike (that I had since age 11) and reconstructed it into a sculpture. The final piece consisted of the sculpture, the photo documentation of the process (which I developed with the help of a friend…long before digital was available) and the 6′ drawing of the creature.

More bike parts!

My daughter and I were tinkering with some bike parts to make a gift for the owner of the General Hardware Gallery in Toronto. http://generalhardware.ca/ She came up with an amazing design for a bolt bunny! She had made the washer bike a while back.

Looking back to 1989.

My first summer in Montreal was spent selling jewelry on the streets of Ste. Catherine, Prince Arthur and in Old Montreal. I experimented with a lot of ideas. One of the projects I worked on was making jewelry out of pieces of my old bicycle. I had taken the bike apart for a final project in the Fine Art Department at the University of Guelph. Shown in the photos are a necklace, ring and “toilet” brooch. Let’s just say there was a reason I was making only $3 a day!!!
