Every now and end I surf the web and find photos of our wedding cake toppers. Here is a few:
I was delighted when Nancy, one of our kind Etsy customers, contacted us to say she had seen one of our tandem wedding cake toppers on the TLC reality TV show “Four Weddings”. We don’t have cable, so I searched on-line and finally purchased the episode on iTunes: Season 7 episode 7…”And a Pilgrim”. Thank you to Lynette and Nathan for purchasing the topper and including it in your beautiful, fun wedding.
My daughter Myriam and I did a fieldtrip downtown Montreal to visit the Fresh Paint Gallery: http://freshpaintmtl.com/ and were inspired by some amazing street art inside the exhibition space, an abandoned building on Ste. Catherine Street.
Together we created this Wedding Cake Topper in a goth/steampunk style. I crafted the skulls out of polymer clay and Myriam painted them with acyrlic paint. The top hat is made of fun foam and the veil is netting. Myriam designed the figures with odds and ends from my magic suitcase and I fixed them together with wire. This one-of-a-kind topper is available for sale in my Etsy shop: http://www.heatherboyd.etsy.com…but maybe not for long!
We were very happy to go to Marc’s nephew’s wedding on the weekend. His brother made all the wedding favors himself. The napkin holders were crafted out of forks. Each one was bent using plyers and brute strength (no torch required). Our love of everything wire gave us a special appreciation for this very artistic wedding souvenir. The sequins were glued onto the finished piece and a tag with names and date printed with the computer. FABULOUS!
This beautiful wire tree was created by my daughter Myriam. She can custom make them with different color beads and in different sizes. This one was about 4 inches high by 3 inches wide. Available for purchase on Etsy: http://www.heatherboyd.etsy.com
In honour of Marc’s nephew’s wedding I created a new design with wire and other materials. The veil is made with white net and embellished with pearls. The bowtie is made with black felt threaded through a black bead. The fabric were purchased at Michael’s Craft Store. I am open to suggestions for custom cake toppers. This design was originally just wire, but the mother-of-the-groom wanted to add some fushia flowers.
Our cake toppers are available for sale on Etsy:
